The City of Akron came to life in the form of flowers when The Akron Garden Club returned to Akron Art Museum June 15-17 to produce Art Blooms, a Garden Club of America flower show. Inspired by the revitalization of Akron, the show exhibited outstanding horticulture, conservation, photography and floral interpretations of fine art.

Highlights included 20 highly artistic floral designs inspired by works on exhibition at the museum, arrayed throughout the galleries. There also were 12 entries of jewelry and other embellished items made entirely from dried botanical material. In addition, the show featured 26 classes of seasonal cut horticultural specimens from local gardens, houseplants, terrariums and container gardens and 30 landscape and horticultural photographs. A conservation exhibition about  Akron Waterways Renewed! educate about the city’s multi-year, billion-dollar water quality improvement project.
