The Akron Garden Club granted Secrest Arboretum in Wooster $50,000 for a Learning from Landscapes interpretive signage program, installed in 2015. The gift honors long-time Secrest Curator and Program Director Kenneth D. Cochran. Forty small signs identify noteworthy native trees and shrubs.

Sixteen large signs placed at strategic points throughout the arboretum educate on topics such as What is Soil?, Will It Grow in My Landscape?,…

The Power of Pollinators, Ohio Prairies, Ongoing Research at Secrest Arboretum  and The Value of Trees.  Additional small signs indicate Garden Club of America Plants of the Year.
