The Akron Garden Club has rescued more than 160,000 native wildflowers from construction sites, using ethical rescue practices and following local, state and federal guidelines. The plants have been donated to Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Holden Arboretum, the Mustill House and Store, the Ohio Heritage Garden, Secrest Arboretum, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Summit Metro Parks and other Ohio public parks and gardens. Future generations can enjoy native treasures that would otherwise have been destroyed.
